...Well, alright, he's not actually Judge Dredd (as the photo below will attest. Hardly regulation uniform!), but he is drawing a 5 part Dredd strip written by the mighty John Wagner which debuts in 2000ad next wednesday.
In celebration of this monumental achievement, issues 8 and 12 (which contain 'The Last Batch' by Chris Sides, Dan Cornwell and Ken Reynolds, and 'Area 101' by Chris Redfern and Dan Cornwell) are free on Drivethru for the next week!

Also keep your eyes peeled for an extra special Drivethru bundle, containing the first three issues of 100% Biodegradable and a nice selection of indie comics from three other Biodegradable creators (more news on this soon!).
Before I sign off, I'd just like to say huge thanks to John Kirkham for all the support he's given me and the comic in his tenure as Assistant Editor. He's stepping down from the role to take a well earned break, and Ken Reynolds will take up the position from Issue 10 onwards. Cheers, John! Thanks for giving Biodegradable a rather professional sheen with your superb graphic design skills - you'll be missed. And welcome aboard, Ken. Let's see where this crazy world of comics takes us next, eh?

Issue 7 Out Now!
Issue 7 of 100% Biodegradable is now available to buy on Comicsy or Drivethru for a mere 69p!
Along with your usual smattering of brain munching goblins, boneheaded barbarians and delusional psychiatric patients, Issue 7 of the 100% Biodegradable anthology features a new ongoing series - Death Duty, by John Freeman (Dr Who Magazine, Judge Dredd Megazine, Crucible) and Alan Burrows (2000ad, Starblazer, Commando).
'In a war-torn future, crime and disloyalty to the Terran Empire are punished with conscription into mercenary law enforcement squads: soldiers consigned to do or die in order to prove their commitment to the common good. The average life expectancy for a recruit is four months, hence the street slang for the job: Death Duty.
Dissidents in the Terran Empire are put on the infamous "List" - tracked down by Death Duty squads and terminated for their rebellion with extreme prejudice. For most of the Dutymen, exactly who they kill doesn't matter - until one of their number, Travis Wilson, begins to question the missions they're assigned and goes AWOL - a wanted man.'
Death Duty also features the character 'Rourke', created by John Freeman and Liam Sharp (2000ad, X-Men, Batman) for use in the pages of Marvel UK's Strip comic, more than 20 years ago.
Here's some previews of what you'll find inside this 30 page anthology.
First up, some blood drenched blackly comic mayhem from Jimmy Furlong (Something Wicked, Spod! Oddities From Space) and Andrew Hartmann (Futurequake, Seqapunch Quarterly) in the form of Gremian The Machine Elf

Next, we unravel the misfortunes of one lone space traveller in Happier Times, by Chris Redfern (Futurequake, Zarjaz) and JT Pegg (2000ad, Judge Dredd Megazine).
And of course where would life be without a little monkey magic from Tony Suleri, David Hailwood, and Ken Reynolds with Pubba Gintaro in: A Date With Death!
Enough waffle - go forth and check out the comic at the links at the top of the page. If you're going to buy Biodegradable, I'd advise doing so before January 1st, as there's a new VATMOSS EU law that may cause many digital businesses to fold due to the impossibility to comply (our comic will continue, but some of its outlets may be forced to close or raise prices).
Issue 7 Contents
Here's a quick sneak preview of the fantastic Death Duty cover for Issue 7 of 100% Biodegradable (art by Alan Burrows, with colours by Brett Burbridge, Death Duty logo by Ken Reynolds and design by John Kirkham).
And here's a look at the contents page (featuring art by Stewart Moore).
There's at least three 2000ad creators with work inside, along with many popular creators from the indie comics scene (and all at the highly reasonable price of 69p!). The issue will be out later today, so watch this space (or, er, do something else in the meantime. Compose a sonnet, hug a monkey or eat a bag of chips perhaps?)

Issue 4 Preview - Sideburns
With issue 4 of the 100% Biodegradable anthology launching in May, it's time to start showing previews of the strips appearing inside.
First up, 'Sideburns: Conjoined Sins' by Jim Alexander, Jon Haward and Nigel Dobbyn (artwork (c) Jon Haward).
This strip first came to my attention when it appeared in Issue 2 of the short lived Bulletproof comic anthology from Matt Yeo (which was also Marren Kane's first home, and featured the likes of Alan Grant, John Freeman and Alan Burrows). As well as enjoying Jon's dark and gritty artwork, the quirky elements of Jim's script (such as reverse strippers) made it stand apart from your average detective story.
Anyway, they very kindly agreed to let me republish the strip and it's well worth a read if you didn't catch it the first time around (sadly their other Sideburns strip has been tricky to track down, otherwise I'd reprint that one as well).
A bit more about the creators:
Jon Haward is the artist and co-creator of Tales of the Buddha, who has worked on other iconic material such as Judge Dredd, 2000ad, Dan Dare, Spider-man, Shinobi, Warhammer and Mutant Chronicles. He's also worked on graphic novels for Classical Comics that have won awards; Macbeth, The Tempest and Frankenstein.
Keep your eyes peeled for his new Simba Khan series coming soon to Aces Weekly, which is written by the rather talented Paul H. Birch (who has also contributed to this issue of 100% Biodegradable)
http://hawardarthouse.blogspot.co.uk/
Jim Alexander has written Judge Dredd - Calhab Justice, O'Rork and Pandora for the Judge Dredd Megazine, and The Grid for 2000 AD. He has also worked for Marvel, DC, Tokyopop and
Metal Hurlant. He currently writes Ben 10 and Generation Rex for Cartoon Network Action Pack.
In 2012 he set up a small-press label called Planet Jimbot. Its publications include Amongst the Stars
(drawn by Mike Perkins), Wolf Country (drawn by Luke Cooper), the anthology Amazing & Fantastic Tales and Savant (drawn by Will Pickering and Fin Cramb; originally conceived for Strip Magazine).
He is also involved in several projects for Metal Hurlant Chronicles, which will air in the US this April on Syfy. The trailer for Whiskey In The Jar, starring Michael Biehn and James Marsters, can be viewed here. It's based on a comic script by Jim Alexander and Gerald Parel, and adapted for TV by Guillaume Lubrano and Jim.

Nigel Dobbyn has worked professionally as an illustrator since 1988, producing comic strips for 2000ad, Sonic the comic, The Dandy, The Beano and Warhammer.
