Bursting forth from some of the most deranged minds in the comics industry come six self contained sci-fi tales;

The Thing From Another Postcode by Dave Roberts (Futurequake, Something Wicked) and Dave Thomson (Psychedelic Journal Of Time Travel, Dr WTF?)

Peter Elvis Twigs receives a remote control and instruction guide for planet earth from an intergalactic delivery man, and begins to fantasise about all the good things he could do for humanity and, more importantly, himself.

Job For Life by David Hailwood (Toxic, Strip Magazine, SPOD! Oddities From Space) and Brett Burbridge.

Jake Brikk, pizza delivery boy extraordinaire, has 30 seconds to make his pizza delivery; if he fails, the entire delivery business will be handed to the customer and Jake'll be out of a job. Can't have that - Jake loves his job with psychotic devotion.

The Golem Rises by Mister Roberts and Simon Mackie (Hallowscream, Temple Showcase)

Something is pulverising people, defiling corpses...leaving one helluva mess. Fortunately detective Ballard has an outlandish theory that just might make sense of it all.

Marren Kane by David Hailwood and Tony Suleri (Slumdroid, Cosmogenesis, Bulletproof)

Dragged against his will into the cities sewer systems by a deranged cult of partially sighted cyclops worshippers, mutant superfreak Marren Kane must face his deadliest enemy yet; a gigantic amorous squid!

I Married A Creature From Outer Space by Paul H. Birch (Creepy Kofy Movie Time, Bulletproof, Toxic) and Mats Engesten (Brainstorm Comics, Atlantis Studios)

A troubled couple go to a marriage guidance counsellor to sort out their relationship problems. Oh, how Mrs Twinkle rues the day that she married a scrawny little maggot of a man from Mars!

First Impressions by Graeme Neil Reid (Judge Dredd, 2000ad, Meanwhile)

Peaceful alien explorers land on Earth and attempt to make contact with its inhabitance. Just one slight problem...it's 85,000,000 B.C. and dinosaurs rule the planet!

100% Biodegradable available on Comixology

Issue 1 of 100% Biodegradable is now available to buy on Comixology!  Issues 2 and 3 have also been accepted and processed, so it shouldn't be long before they're available as well.

Thanks to Comixology's Guided View technology, you should be able to read the comic on smaller devices such as Mobile Phones (I've tested Guided View on my ipad with a complimentary copy that Comixology sent me, and it works very nicely indeed).

So if you haven't already brought yourself a copy of the first issue, now is a jolly nice time to do so (all support is greatly appreciated!).

I'm hoping to do a write-up on the whole Comixology process soon, so keep your eyes peeled.

A hearty welcome!

Well hello there, my inquisitive compadres!

Welcome to the brand new blog for Biomekazoik Developments - home to the 100% Biodegradable comics anthology, and the free online board game 'Board Horde'.

As time goes on I'll be using this blog to bring attention to upcoming strips in the anthology, highlight the works of various creators and give a behind the scenes look at the art, writing and editing process.  And maybe, just maybe, I'll one day do an update for that pesky online board game of mine!

Currently the anthology has only been out for two months now, and we've already had masses of high quality submissions - some from newcomers, and others from seasoned pros (the web links to the right should give you an idea of some of the creators whose work will be appearing inside future issues).

If you happen to be a comic writer or artist who would like to get involved, then we're looking for 1-6 page self contained strips of a sci-fi/fantasy/horror/adventure nature.  Preferably completed strips, though if you're a great artist looking for a writer or a great writer looking for an artist we may be able to pair you up with someone if your work is what we're after.  Feel free to email us at: biomekazoik[at]gmail.com for more information.

I'd just like to say huge thanks to John Kirkham for doing such a marvelous job on the graphic design work for the covers and contents pages (and all the joyous admin work!), and to all the creators who have submitted work so far.  The generosity of some of the professional creators who've taken time out of their busy schedules to rifle through their back catalogue of work at the insane whim of a bespectacled beard-sporting editor has been truly astounding.  Cheers, chaps!  That bar tab at the next comic convention I attend may bankrupt me, as it's growing with every favour...

Anyway, must get back to planning issue 3 (due out mid-March).  Stay tuned as there's fun times ahead, people!

- David Hailwood (editor of 100% Biodegradable)
